And that’s what the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance show is for, with the phrase Concours d’Elegance translating to “Exhibition of Elegance” from French. 

What is the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance?

The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is one of the world’s most prestigious exotic vehicle exhibitions that’s held annually during the summertime in Pebble Beach, California. Originally founded in 1950, the event was created as a secondary part of the Pebble Beach Road Race, sponsored by the Sports Car Club of America. The first Concours d’Elegance was held on November 4th, 1950, and the event spotlighted 30 vehicles. 

Just like an art exhibition, the event draws avid automotive enthusiasts and car collectors from around the world to view some of the most innovative and beautiful automobile feats ever produced, including multi-million dollar supercars, historical vehicles, vintage sports cars, and concept vehicles. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance also hosts other events, including rare car auctions, personal tours, and social events. Special category showcases are also a part of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, including vehicles from different countries and regions, and cars developed by specific manufacturers, including McLaren, Porsche, Lamborghini, and more. 

When is the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance?

The 72nd Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will be held on Sunday, August 20th, 2023 from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm Pacific Time. You can purchase tickets for the event here.

McLaren will be celebrating its 60th anniversary at the 72nd Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with its own special tribute for the first time ever. The tribute will display some of the most legendary McLaren race cars, from earlier models to the most recent Formula 1 champs.
